My Beloved Loves Me (Beloved) is a picture of true love, sanctified in purity, holiness and truth, everlastingly eternal. The message of this story is for everyone, male and female, young and old for this is the love that every soul longs for. It is especially for all those who have yearned for and never found perfect love, those who have longed for someone to love with their whole being: the single, the divorced, the widowed, the lonely, the married, the brokenhearted, the forlorn, the self-destructive, the suicidal, the empty, the lost, the unloved, and those who believe they are unlovable all those broken in spirit by an unloving and unlovable life that constantly attempts to quench the immortal spirit of love within every human being. My own life was a perfect example: broken marriages, looking for love from people who were as incapable of giving it as I was; finally, I gave up on love: no more relationships for me! Spending the rest of my life alone, unloved, feeling unlovable, with no one to give love to seemed pretty bleak. No more worldly husbands for me, no more relationships, no more hugs and hand-holding, no more tender kisses, no more whispered endearments, no more shared dreams and goals. Driving along listening to music one day, I heard a love song by a 70's group, Abba, about being with that special person out on a breathlessly beautiful, star-filled night. Pure romance! Instant flashbacks to nights from my past in the Bahamas, New York and Seattle with my husband. The lyrics shot a stab of deep loneliness through me with the knowledge that I would never experience that again! In that same instant, a powerful awareness surged through me: I have that relationship with Jesus! In an instant, His Spirit filled my heart with the beautiful words of My Beloved Loves Me. These are His words. That night, still enchanted by this overwhelming awareness of His deep love, I jotted down His words to me. While doing so, I heard the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ speak to me in perfect clarity these four words: "My beloved loves Me" Truly, it was as if He were right there in the room!!! Wondrously, the power of those words washed through me. That was God's own confirmation that He recognized my love for Him! He had taught me to love!!! It also confirmed His love for me. It was the answer to a desperate prayer two years before wherein my spirit cried out to Him that I had never truly loved or been loved, did not even really know what love was. Could God teach me? Yes!!! He has!!! What a beautiful journey of learning it has been. I am loved preciously, everlastingly and perfectly by my God who created me in His love, for His love, and who desires my deepest, truest, purest love in return. This is the perfect love all of us walk through life seeking desperately to find and fail to when we seek it from people. Only Jesus' love is perfect, pure and complete, transcending everything earthly, true and everlasting. I am His beloved and He is mine! My Beloved Loves Me is His own testament to His love. He wants you to know: you are His beloved too. He did not just die for me, He also died for you! Ponder this: if you were the only sinner in all of humanity, He would have died to save only you and give you eternal life because He wants none, not one, to be lost. I know this is true from Luke 15:4-7 and Matthew 18:11-14: there is more joy in heaven over the one lost sheep than over the ninety and nine who were not! Then I know there was great rejoicing over me! "I have loved you with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn you." You are His beloved too! |
